Water-marbled silk neckties, created by Cindy Stalnaker -- The process: I hand-dye these silk blanks in my Laguna Beach, California studio, using high-quality Chinese silks. Water marbling is an ancient process, and is based on floating drops of paint on a viscous water-based solution. Rakes and other tools are used to manipulate the colors into unique patterns. Once the pattern is created, it's transferred to the silk by dipping, then heat-setting. These are truly one-of-a-kind creations! I've just added a page showing the process (it's a scarf demo).
Care of the neckties: Dry clean only.
December 12, 2017 update: My Laguna Beach Magazine article is out, I've added many new items this past week, including 3" and 2" inch width neckties. All tie purchases include a gift box and an info sheet detailing how I do the water-marbling process. Sign up for my email list for early notification of new inventory (link at bottom of page).
